Moving from Dropbox to YouSendIt

In the past, some of our users have looked to YouSendIt to simply send files and folders, while using other applications to sync data. Today, there’s no longer any need for multiple accounts – you can use YouSendIt for online storage, syncing, and for electronic signing. It’s quick, secure, and transferring your files over is simple!

In this short video, we will show you how easy it is to transfer your files from another service to YouSendIt:

Re: Moving from Dropbox to YouSendIt

I was using Dropbox and all was good until I moved to yousendit

I always used yousend it to e-mail files, however now that I am using yousend it dropbox I am getting very frustrated

I downloaded the Desktop App and updated it with two folders, However I thought as soon as I edit my Desktop app, the folders should be automatically updated, However it is not Syncing together

but when I update folders from the website it does sync My Iphone But not syncing with the Dsek top App. this is so frustrating

and I am thinking of moving back to DropBox

Unless you have a solution for this, I don't have time to waste, this is slowing down my business like crazy, I have been on it every night to figure it out,

Re: Moving from Dropbox to YouSendIt

I think what's getting you is that Read Only Folders wont sync to your desktop.  It's kind of a gotcha right now, but I understand it's coming soon.

Our update last month to the sync app has some great new things I think will help you out.  You now can see folders that are read only that have been shared with you along with now having the option to selective sync certain folders.  Check it out and let me know what you think!

Re: Moving from Dropbox to YouSendIt

The problem with yousendit: I can't find a way to sync the dropbox folder created (to someone put files) with the desktop app.

If someone, instead of sendind just a large file, put 300 files in the dropbox folder, you're totally f****... Just in web, one file at a time. Very nice way to work, hun?

Re: Moving from Dropbox to YouSendIt

Hi fabio! While the Desktop App currently doesn't sync with files sent to you, we are working to have this functionality in the future. Below is a workaround, so that you can download multiple files at once, and have them sync to your Desktop App.

Currently, if someone sends you a large number of files (via your Dropbox or by email), you can download them all at once by using another one of our free applications, YouSendIt Express. You can download the application by clicking here, and here are instructions on how to download files via YouSendIt Express:

In the Settings section of YouSendIt Express, you can set where you want your received files to be downloaded to. I would suggest creating a folder, possibly named Downloads, in your YouSendIt Desktop App folder, and setting your downloads to download to this folder. That, way, you can download multiple files sent to you via your Dropbox at once, and have them automatically download to your YouSendIt synced folders.
