From the beginning, YouSendIt has provided users with a solution to a common problem – sending large files via email. Over the years, we’ve added an array of other features to our product, including the syncing of files across multiple network devices, signing documents online, and the sharing of files and folders for online collaboration. What’s wonderful is how all of these features work together to make your workflow more efficient.
You know that with the YouSendIt Desktop App, you can easily collaborate on files and folders with multiple users, and have your data synced to all of your network devices. But let’s say you’re working on a project with multiple users, and you just want to simply send the project, still in progress, to a colleague for review. You could share the folder with your colleague, but you may not want to grant him continual access to the contents of the folder. In this instance, you simply want your colleague to see the progress of what you’re working on at the moment. In this Tech Tip Tuesday post, we will walk through using the Send by YouSendit option to send synced folders to your recipients.
Send by YouSendIt
Send by YouSendIt is a feature available once you’ve installed YouSendIt Express, which allows you to send entire files and/or folders directly from your desktop. In order to use the Send by YouSendIt option to send your synced YouSendIt folders, you’re going to need the following:
Once both of these applications are installed, open the Desktop App and select which folder(s) you wish to send. Right-click, and select Send by YouSendIt.
YouSendIt Express will open, and you will be prompted to log into your account (unless you’re already logged in). Once logged in, the folder(s) you selected will appear zipped in the list of files to be uploaded. Enter the recipient’s email address (required), along with a subject line, message, and your security settings (optional); when you’re ready to send your folder(s), click Send It.
Now, you can collaborate on content with multiple users via your Desktop app, and send it to other recipients with ease!
Do you have any stories of about using YouSendIt to Share and Send files? We’d love to hear them. Please feel free to post your thoughts in this thread. Thanks!
