Collaboration is just a different way of saying working in teams or work groups. Everyone, no matter your industry, need to be able to easily and efficiently collaborate with others on various projects. Like for YouSendIt, we recently had to collaborate cross-departmentally on the launch of our new enterprise solution, Workstream by YouSendIt. In our case we ate our own dog food and use YouSendIt as our content collaboration solution, but of course there is a wide variety of cloud solutions that allow teams or companies to collaborate inside and outside the firewall.
YouSendIt Workflow Example
Our different teams: Marketing, Sales, Product Management, so on were all involved in some way in launching our new enterprise collaboration suite. What we did: different stakeholders created YouSendIt folders in the cloud so they could store, send, or share their content with other teams inside and outside the company; for example, we had a folder that we shared with our PR agency. We wanted to make sure that they had all the latest and greatest messaging around the launch. Our agency was able to use the file upload feature to add new content to the folder, but they could also alter existing content by opening the file through the YouSendIt Desktop App. And of course they could view the content from any device: iPhone, iPad, or Andriod. This allowed our marketing team and PR agency to stay connected without having to send hundreds of emails to one another, or work face to face.
To collaborate on a project, people used to have to be in the office to get their job done. Now with an abundance of cloud solutions people can securely work anywhere any time with anyone.
